  • Paleoglacial footprint and fluvial terraces of the Shaluli Shan, SE Tibetan Plateau

Open Access•Ramona Schneider, Robin Blomdin et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Maps•2021

This study provides mapping of glacial and fluvial geomorphology in the Shaluli Shan region on the eastern margin of the south-eastern Tibetan Plateau. Based on TanDEM-X 12 m elevation data and GoogleEarth imagery, glacial valleys, ice-marginal moraines, glacial lineations, scoured terrain and fluvial terraces were mapped. Covering around 11,000 km 2 , this map is the first for this region to display geomorphology at a spatial resolution of 0.4 a…

  • Extensive glaciations between MIS 8 and MIS 5 on the eastern side of the Guliya ice cap, West Kunlun Mountains

Open Access•Xuezhen Zeng, Xiangke Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2021

  • Glacial events during the last glacial termination in the Pagele valley, Qiongmu Gangri peak, southern Tibetan Plateau, and their links to oceanic and atmospheric circulation

Open Access•Xiangke Xu, Tandong Yao et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2020

During the last glacial termination, a warming trend was generally interrupted by rapid millennium-scale cold reversals, such as the Greenland (Isotope) Stadial 1 (GS-1) and GS-2a events. To understand how glaciers on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) responded to these rapid climate events, this study constrained the timing and extent of three glacial events during the late-glacial period. Specifically, using a cosmogenic 10 Be exposure dating method, we…

  • Glacier status during the period 1973–2014 in the Hunza Basin, Western Karakoram

Open Access•Muhammad Ateeq Qureshi, Chaolu Yi et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2017

  • Extensive glacial advances during the Last Glacial Maximum near the eastern Himalayan syntaxis

Open Access•Gang Hu, Chaolu Yi et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2017

  • Timing and configuration of the Gongga II glaciation in the Hailuogou valley, eastern Tibetan Plateau

    Open Access•Xiangke Xu, Chaolu Yi•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2017

  • Late-Holocene glacier advances and related climate conditions in the Hailuogou catchment, Gongga Shan, eastern Tibetan Plateau

    Open Access•Xiangke Xu, Ateeq Q Muhammad et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2016•References: 6

We present simulations for the late-Holocene glacier advances in the Hailuogou catchment, Gongga Shan, in attempts to test the glacier sensitivity to climate changes and constrain the climate conditions that support these glacier advances. We use a coupled mass-balance and ice-flow model parameterized using empirical glaciological and climatological data to simulate the glacier extents by fitting modeled glaciers to corresponding glacial landform…

  • Responses of two branches of Glacier No. 1 to climate change from 1993 to 2005, Tianshan, China

Open Access•Xiangke Xu, Baolin Pan et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2011

  • Climate change since 11.5 ka on the Diancang Massif on the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau

Open Access•Jiangqiang Yang, Wei Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2010

The Diancang Massif is located in a region linking the Tibetan and Yungui Plateaus. Climatically, it is in a transition belt between the south and middle subtropical zones, controlled by Indian monsoon and westerlies. Thus, this study provides more evidences on the evolution of Indian monsoon since the Holocene. We reconstruct the history of climate on the Diancang Massif since 11.5 ka, using integrated correlation of glacial activities, early hu…

  • Last Glacial Maximum climate inferences from integrated reconstruction of glacier equilibrium-line altitude for the head of the Urumqi River, Tianshan Mountains

Open Access•Xiangke Xu, Liqiang Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2010
