  • The impact of diabetes on chronic pain in different body regions among adults aged 50 and older

Open Access•Min Ding, Anle Ding et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Objective This study investigates the association between diabetes and chronic pain across various body regions in individuals aged 50 years and older, while assessing the influence of gender, hypertension status, age, and glycemic control on this relationship. Methods Data from the 2015 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) database included 10,315 participants, with 1,983 diabetic and 8,332 non-diabetic individuals. Logistic r…

  • Saikosaponin C ameliorates renal injury and fibrosis via suppression of the HK2/PKM2/LDHA signaling mediated glycolysis in CKD

Open Access•Chong Deng, Yang Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2025

  • Task Value Beliefs and Self‐Efficacy in Adolescent English as a Foreign Language Learners

Open Access•Min Ding, Boyan Li et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Applied…•2025•References: 11

Task value beliefs, a central motivational factor, are pivotal to academic outcomes among English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners. This study employed a complementary design that integrated variable‐ and person‐centered approaches to examine the relationship between EFL task value beliefs, including attainment, utility, and intrinsic values, and EFL self‐efficacy. We also sought to explore potentially heterogeneous subgroups of EFL task value …

  • The last straw

    Open Access•Yuchi Zhang, Min Ding et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Community & Applied…•2024•References: 6

The positive relationship between coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19)‐related psychological distress and adolescents' cyberbullying behaviours has garnered attention. Although the global COVID‐19 pandemic has ended, examining adolescents' cyberbullying behaviours in the context of this disaster and revealing the potential complex interaction effects of COVID‐19 anxiety and peer and teacher factors on adolescents' cyberbullying behaviours, especia…

  • Development and validation of a risk prediction model for early diabetic peripheral neuropathy based on a systematic review and meta-analysis

Open Access•Xixi Liu, Dong Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

  • Contamination Evaluation and Source Identification of Heavy Metals in the Sediments from the Lishui River Watershed, Southern China

Open Access•Fang Shen, Longjiang Mao et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

Seven heavy metals (Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pb) were measured in surface sediments from the Lishui River watershed, an area with increased soil erosion in China. The mean concentrations of heavy metals were 61.20 mg/kg (Cr), 757.15 mg/kg (Mn), 9.39 mg/kg (Co), 25.31 mg/kg (Ni), 22.84 mg/kg (Cu), 91.66 mg/kg (Zn), and 40.19 mg/kg (Pb), respectively. The spatial distribution of heavy metals was site-specific, exhibiting a remarkably high level in t…

  • Broadening horizons

    Open Access•Denis Newman-Griffis, Julia Porcino et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2019

Background Human activity and the interaction between health conditions and activity is a critical part of understanding the overall function of individuals. The World Health Organization’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) models function as all aspects of an individual’s interaction with the world, including organismal concepts such as individual body structures, functions, and pathologies, as well as the …

  • Joint Toxicity of Different Heavy Metal Mixtures after a Short-Term Oral Repeated-Administration in Rats

Open Access•Hong Su, Li Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2017

The systemic toxicity of different combinations of heavy metal mixtures (HMMs) was studied according to equivalent proportions of the eight most common detectable heavy metals found in fish consumption in the Ningbo area of China. The ion mass proportions of Zn, Cu, Mn, Cr, Ni, Cd, Pb, and Hg were 1070.0, 312.6, 173.1, 82.6, 30.0, 13.3, 6.6, and 1.0, respectively. In this study, 10 experimental groups were set as follows: M8 (Pb + Cd + Hg + Ni + …

  • Geochemical and grain-size evidence for the provenance of loess deposits in the Central Shandong Mountains region, northern China

Open Access•Shuzhen Peng, Qingzhen Hao et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2016

Widespread loess deposits in the Central Shandong Mountains yield valuable paleoclimatic records for this currently semi-humid monsoonal region of northern China. The grain-size distribution and major element composition for bulk samples and two grain-size fractions ( 2 /Al 2 O 3 and K 2 O/Al 2 O 3 for the
