  • Efficacy of a Tier‐2 mathematics intervention and teachers' and pupils' opinions on its implementation

Open Access•Noémie Lacombe, Anne-Françoise De Chambrier•ARTICLE•Journal of Research in Special…•2026

The Response to Intervention (RTI) model promotes early identification of students with academic difficulties, enabling intensive and rapid support. While most research on RTI focuses on the efficacy of the intervention, few studies explore the social validity of interventions especially in Europe. This pilot study tested, for the first time in Switzerland, the efficacy of a Tier‐2 mathematics support programme for first‐grade students and collec…

Open Access•Anne-Françoise De Chambrier, Philippe Terrier et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2025

  • Effects of adaptations of a phonics-based reading intervention program on reading and spelling skills of students with intellectual disability who require augmentative and alternative communication

Open Access•Anne-Laure Linder, Megan Geyer et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Education•2023

Introduction This study is an examination of the effects of a series of adaptations made to a phonics-based reading intervention program for students with an intellectual disability (ID). They consisted of using a pointing-response modality to allow participants to give their answers as well as the use of internal speech, w…

  • Reading numbers is harder than reading words

Open Access•Anne-Françoise De Chambrier, Marco Pedrotti et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2023

We recorded the eye movements of adults reading aloud short (four digit) and long (eight to 11 digit) Arabic numerals compared to matched-in-length words and pseudowords. We presented each item in isolation, at the center of the screen. Participants read each item aloud at their pace, and then pressed the spacebar to display the next item. Reading accuracy was 99 %. Results showed that adults make 2.5 times more fixations when reading short numer…

Open Access•Anne-Françoise De Chambrier, Valérie Angelucci et al.•ARTICLE•Swiss Journal of Educational…•2017
