Developing primary care occupational health services for informal sector workers in Thailand
This study demonstrates action research’s emancipatory traditions in enabling community stakeholders in rural Thai settings to increase self-reliance and collaboration in improving primary care occupational health services. Stroke is a major cause of death and disability in many countries. Early access to the most appropriate medical treatment can improve health outcomes. Despite this, only 30-60% of people who experience a stroke seek medical help within the recommended 3-hour timeframe. Women's physical mobility in rural Bangladesh
Women's physical autonomy or freedom of movement in rural Bangladesh was studied using the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS), 1994 data. Logistic regression analysis revealed that women's age, working status, sex of household, membership of non‐government organizations, and access to mass media had significant associations with the likelihood of women's freedom to go outside the house or visit a health center.
