  • Analysis of Single Nucleotide Variants (SNVs) Induced by Exposure to PM10 in Lung Epithelial Cells Using Whole Genome Sequencing

Open Access•Se Jin Park, Gwan Woo Ku et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

There are many epidemiological studies asserting that fine dust causes lung cancer, but the biological mechanism is not clear. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of PM 10 (particulate matter less than 10 μm) on single nucleotide variants through whole genome sequencing in lung epithelial cancer cell lines (HCC-827, NCI-H358) that have been exposed to PM 10 . The two cell lines were exposed to PM 10 for 15 days. We performed experi…

The purpose of the present study was to compare the health behaviors, general health, and mental health of South Korean employees according to their employment status, and to examine how these associations vary across genders using the latest Korean National Examination Health and Nutrition Survey data. Logistic regression analyses were performed using employment status-permanent job, temporary job, and unemployed-as predictor variables and healt…

  • I miss my mobile phone!”: Self-expansion via mobile phone and responses to phone loss

    Open Access•Cynthia A Hoffner, Sangmi Lee et al.•ARTICLE•New Media & Society•2015•Cited by: 11•References: 8

This article explores how mobile phones function as an affective technology for young adults, by adapting the self-expansion model to understand attachment to mobile phones. In an online survey, 272 smart phone users reported on their recalled responses to loss/separation from their mobile phone (not by choice), as well as their use of the mobile phone for self-expansion. Results show that self-expansion via mobile phone was associated with great…

  • Association of oral health behaviors and status with depression: Results from the K orean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 2010

Open Access•Se Jin Park, Ki Dong Ko et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Public Health Dentistry•2013

Depression was significantly associated with oral health status, even after adjusting for the impact of oral health behaviors in Korean adults. Thus, our findings suggest the necessity of further investigation to detect underlying mechanisms in the relationship between depression and oral health that are not mediated by oral health behavior
