Preventive dental care among Medicaid‐enrolled senior adults
The strongest predictor of receipt of dental procedures in the two years after nursing facility entry was the receipt of dental procedures in the three years before entry while community-dwelling. We examined families' end-of-life decision making and their interactions with health professionals. Twenty-eight family members of institutionalized dementia patients participated in four focus groups. Variations in Funeral-Related Costs of Older Adults and the Role of Preneed Funeral Contracts and Type of Disposition
Based on this 1995 study of 163 families in the Kansas City area who experienced the death of a loved one age 50+ in the previous months, we found that combined funeral and cemetery-related costs ranged from $195 to over $14,000. We also report ranges in costs for caskets, outer burial containers, cemetery expenses, and funeral home costs. This review examines the relationship between rural residence, income, and health status for older women in the U.S. little published research has focused on the interaction between financial status and the specific health-related needs of these rural women.
