Robertas Spaemannas ir Alexandre‘o Kojeve‘o antropologijos kritika
The paper utilizes a reconstruction of Robert Spaemann’s arguments to critique Alexandre Kojève’s personalism, which is based on a dualistic ontology, and its political implications. Spaemann’s positions are used to prove that the French philosopher’s attempt to interpret the concept of person in a dualistic ontology establishes the dialectic of naturalism and spiritualism, in which the idea of person disappears. This allows us to clarify the fun…
Roberto Spaemanno kontrrevoliucinės politinės teologijos kritika
The aim of the article is to prove that Robert Spaemann’s interpretations of the inversion of teleology, Bonald’s political theology and nihilism of the right can be applied in a critical analysis of Carl Schmitt’s decisionistic counterrevolutionary political theology. Schmitt formed his theoretical positions by developing the insights of the doctrines of Thomas Hobbes and Catholic counterrevolutionary political theorists. Spaemann’s analysis sho…
Alexandre Kojève and Carl Schmitt
The aim of the article is to demonstrate that Carl Schmitt’s and Alexandre Kojève’s ideas about the political and the end of history have to be seen in the light of their theological presuppositions. The article defends the position that Schmitt’s The Concept of the Political is based on attempts to look at the problems of political anthropology from theological perspective, in which the dogma of original sin plays a central role. Kojève’s anthro…
Immanuel Kant's Challenge to Political Science
The aim of the paper is to prove the incompatibility of Kantian philosophy with empirical political science. The nonexistence of such a science in Kant’s structure of reason is not a coincidence that was determined by historical contingencies, it is a necessary position of his teaching. The domination of morality in Kant’s conception of practical reason does not leave any room for empirical science of politics. Firstly, introduction of methods bo…
Political Meaning of Stasys Šalkauskis’ Philosophy of Culture
The philosophy of culture put forward by Šalkauskis is a version of political philosophy. By using a typology of the relationship between philosophy and democracy we attempt to prove that his philosophy of culture encompasses not one but few different understandings of the relationship between democracy and philosophy. By comparing the ideas of Šalkauskis with the issues of contemporary political philosophy we can see that democracy today is deve…
Romantizmas ir valstybininko idėja
[only abstract in English; full article and abstract in Lithuanian] Schmitt was right to point out the apolitical nature of Romanticism. The romantic relationship with the world turns politics into an occasion for an individual to showcase the creative powers of one’s imagination. This leads to the aesthetic and emotional interpretation of the daily political phenomena. It gives rise to the perspective of an external observer who has no practical…
Neįvertintas Carlo Schmitto Pažiūrų Aspektas
The main concern of this paper is the analysis of political romanticism and political theology. Today „Politische Romantik“ is regarded as a work in the field of aesthetics or XIX century intellectual history. Contemporary interpretations of Schmitt’s work downplay the importance of this early treatise. The analysis presented in this paper aims to throw a new light on current discussions about German thinker. The major task of this work is to dem…
