The aim of this paper is to analyze the performance of the weighted averages of MFN tariffs and bound tariffs in South America. We compiled data from the WTO's databases with the purpose of recognizing some areas and products with higher levels of protectionist tariff barriers. We concluded that MFN tariffs have dropped considerably among the countries after they participate in rounds of negotiations within a multilateral trading system. However,…

  • Customer Service Multichannel Model in a HCPS

Open Access•Jorge Restrepo-Morales, Emerson Andrés Giraldo Betancur et al.•ARTICLE•Innovar•2019

This paper evaluates the real capacity of the customer service system in a Health Care Service Provider (HCSP) in which users request a service using a multi-channel M/M/n queueing system with Poisson arrivals and exponential times. The assistance process shows that an individual who wants to request a diagnostic test must wait his/her turn in several cubicles. The aim of this paper is to develop a methodology that generates two-way results in im…

The MPI is measured employing data from the government database SISBEN, which is used by the Colombian authorities to identify beneficiaries of so…

Tourism is a topic of interest to many economies around the world, but it has received limited attention in Colombia. Knowing the periods of larger tourist inflows is important for predicting coverage in services for tourists. In this paper, we compare the estimation between classical and Bayesian regression in order to choose the best alternative to predict the number of tourist arrivals to Medellin. We also identify the most significant variabl…
