  • Do No Harm, Do Markets Care? Evidence on Safeguard Provision and Credit Retirement in Voluntary Carbon Markets

Open Access•Ning Lei, Sylvain Coutu•ARTICLE•Trees Forests and People•2026

The voluntary carbon market (VCM) plays an increasingly important role in financing forest-based climate mitigation. However, the viability of this mechanism relies on project outcomes being commensurated into a single carbon metric (tCO2e), which can obscure other social and environmental dimensions and, if neglected, lead to harm. Yet the evaluation of forest carbon projects’ provisions to ensure baseline environmental and social safeguards rem…

  • Sexual orientation-related victimization and posttrauma reckless and self-destructive behaviors in trauma-exposed sexual minority adults

    Open Access•Benjamin W Katz, Noam G Newberger et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Trauma Theory…•2025

Trauma symptoms due to discrimination and emotion dysregulation may be important explanatory factors underlying the association between sexual orientation-related victimization and posttrauma RSDBs, suggesting their potential utility as targets in prevention and intervention efforts with trauma-exposed sexual minority adults.

Diane Dubeau, Annie Bérubé et al.•ARTICLE•Canadian Journal of Program…•2018

In order to optimize the appropriateness, utilization, and appropriation of an evaluation process, which is often expensive in terms of time and money, we have recently encouraged the increasingly active involvement of various stakeholders (Cousins et Chouinard, 2012). Beyond this orientation, there are important issues concerning the selection and the degree of participation of these stakeholders, as well as obstacles and conditions facilitating…

  • Caseworkers' perspective on risk factors in the family environment influencing mothers' difficulties in meeting children's needs

Open Access•Annie Bérubé, Vicky Lafantaisie et al.•ARTICLE•Children and Youth Services Review•2017•Cited by: 1•References: 66

Annie Bérubé, Sylvain Coutu et al.•ARTICLE•Canadian Journal of Program…•2012

There is as yet no clear consensus about the effectiveness of interventions targetting child neglect. This article presents proposals for what to consider when evaluating those programs. First of all, child neglect is more an ecosystemic than a parental problem. An evaluation should therefore focus on changes within and outside the family. The individualized, multimodal nature of the programs makes an implementation fidelity evaluation necessary.…
