  • Validation of a French Version of the Nondual Awareness Dimensional Assessment-Trait

Open Access•Andréa Oddos, Guy Gimenez et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2025

Nondual awareness (NDA), a unified, unchanging state of consciousness devoid of other phenomenal contents, can be achieved by various means such as contemplative practices. NDA seems to have a beneficial effect on well-being. This study aimed to validate a French version of the Nondual Awareness Dimensional Assessment-Trait (NADA-T) scale used to measure predisposition to NDA in the context of mindfulness meditation, during experiences with reduc…

  • A ‘complementarist’ approach to the group as matrix and as psychic apparatus

Open Access•Clarisse Vollon, Jeff Guy et al.•ARTICLE•Group Analysis•2022

This article presents an epistemological reflection on two models of the group: S.H. Foulkes’ matrix model and René Kaës’ less well-known group psychic apparatus model. These two models are viewed as complementary, in the sense of George Devereux’s ‘complementarist’ approach, provided that each is conceived of as constituting a ‘vertex’, as Bion used this term. After showing that the two models are neither in competition nor coextensive, we explo…

  • From functional dissociation to creativity in groups

Open Access•Clarisse Vollon, Jeff Guy et al.•ARTICLE•Group Analysis•2022

This article explores group creativity following the lockdown in France from March to May 2020. Questioning its impact on established groups led us to formulate two hypotheses. First, the announcement of these measures provoked what Anzieu (1981) has referred to as a ‘state of creative shock’ in existing group structures. Second, the psychic envelope of these groups enabled a group creativity to emerge and be sustained. We support these remarks w…

  • Le double héroïque, entre mythe et roman

Jacques Chevalier, Julie Chevalier et al.•ARTICLE•Adolescence•2018•Cited by: 1•References: 2

  • The Notion of the ‘Matrix’

Open Access•Clarisse Vollon, Jeff Guy et al.•ARTICLE•Group Analysis•2015

Following on from the work of Foulkes (1964), we propose in this article to take up the concept of ‘group matrix’. We set out to provide new clinical–theoretical perspectives via the notion of group as ‘envelope’ elaborated by Anzieu (1975). This formulation will provide us with a canvas within which to apprehend the organizational and structural evolution of a therapeutic group for chronic psychotic patients. We will suggest models of the networ…

  • A Proposed Method of Group Observation and Note-Taking from a Psychoanalytical Perspective

Open Access•Jeff Guy, Guy Gimenez et al.•ARTICLE•Group Analysis•2013

Although the taking of notes in clinical group settings is an important issue, it has received surprisingly little attention. Given that it is one of the tools in the analyst’s armoury and part of his or her internal framework, it certainly deserves detailed reflection. Taking notes forces us to question our implicit choices of what is (or is not) relevant to pick up, note down and interpret, as well as the way we process the clinical material bo…
