Open Access•Siddhartha Baviskar, Helle Birkholm Antczak et al.•ARTICLE•The British Journal of Social Work•2023•References: 28

Statutory meetings are at the core of social work practice, yet there is no quantitatively tested common set of criteria for assessing statutory social workers’ communication skills with young people. Reliably measuring such skills is important for the training and supervision of social workers as well for drawing conclusions about whether such skills impact service users’ outcomes. To fill this gap, we developed a new measure, the My Social Work…

  • Goal Consensus and Collaboration in Psychotherapy

    Open Access•Thomas Mackrill•ARTICLE•Journal of Humanistic Psychology•2009•References: 9

Goal consensus and collaboration has proved to be significant for treatment outcome. Why this is the case has not been studied. The terms suggest a technical rationale; that increased attention to consensus and collaboration will lead to a more efficient use of therapeutic resources on the part of both client and therapist. However, an existential rationale is also a possibility. This study explores such a rationale. When therapists focus on goal…
