  • Campaign Endorsements and Election Outcomes in Judicial Elections

Open Access•Marcy Shieh, Hayley Munir et al.•ARTICLE•American Politics Research•2024•References: 34

Increasing voter knowledge in low-information elections is paramount to democratic accountability. Endorsements serve as a source of information about candidates for voters. Though candidates in state supreme court races are constrained by many traditional methods of electioneering, endorsements of judicial candidates remain relatively unconstrained. Using an original dataset of campaign advertisements from 2000-2018, we coded for a variety of pu…

  • The cost of coalition compromise: The electoral effects of holding salient portfolios

    Open Access•Zachary David Greene, Nathan Henceroth et al.•ARTICLE•Party Politics•2021•Cited by: 17•References: 59

This article highlights the electoral effects of holding salient portfolios within a coalition government. • The Effect that Structural and Investment Funds have on Voter Behaviour in European Parliamentary Elections

    Open Access•Nathan Henceroth, Rafael Oganesyan•ARTICLE•JCMS Journal of Common Market…•2019•Cited by: 6•References: 41

In this article, we demonstrate that SIFs have grown large enough in scope that they are now beginning to function similarly to more established macroeconomic determinants of the vote such as unemployment and GDP growth in European Parliamentary elections. Moreover, SIFs have an electoral effect in a type of election that was previously a…

  • Confrontation and competition: The electoral benefits of regionalist parties’ positions in parliamentary democracies

    Open Access•Nathan Henceroth, Christian B Jensen et al.•ARTICLE•Party Politics•2018•Cited by: 5•References: 31

Recent research has shown that niche parties are both increasing in importance in European party systems and behave differently than their more mainstream counterparts. Indeed, there is growing evidence that the dynamic between green parties and social democratic parties is especially nuanced. Regionalist parties differ from other niche parties in that they can be found on the left, right, and center of the ideological spectrum. We find that regi…
