The part of the province of Quebec lying north of the 55th parallel is home to over 4,000 Inuit. Infant mortality is still very high in this region due to difficult living conditions. A critical re‐examination of the data has revealed a bias stemming from high undercoverage which has helped create a misleading impression of the infant mortality situation of this region.
