  • The convergence of reciprocity motivation through observational learning: Individual differences and the role of social authority

Nan Yu, Yu Nan et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2025

  • Effects of Sars-CoV-2 infections on cerebrospinal fluid metabolites in patients hospitalized for Covid-19: Results from a two-sample Mendelian randomization study

Open Access•Teng Lv, Xiufeng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Critical Public Health•2025

Understanding cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) dysregulation may provide insights into the mechanisms underlying neuro-COVID sequelae. However, research on CSF metabolic alterations in COVID-19 remains scarce, and the precise mechanisms by which SARS-CoV-2 induces neurological complications are still unclear. This study aimed to provide new insights into the effects of SARS-CoV-2 on CSF metabolism in patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Single-nucleotide p…

  • The causal relationship between smoke and renal impairment: A two-sample Mendelian randomization and meta-analysis

Open Access•Teng Lv, Fengzhen Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Critical Public Health•2025

Smoking is a known risk factor for impaired renal function, while its causal effect is still unclear. This study aims to investigate the causal relationship between smoking behavior and renal impairment. A two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was conducted using genetic variants (GVs) associated with the exposure and outcome from the IEU OpenGWAS project and CKDGen Consortium. Multiple different MR methods, such as inverse variance we…

  • Detailed mtDNA genotypes permit a reassessment of the settlement and population structure of the Andaman Islands

    Open Access•Subihra Sankar Barik, R Sahani et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•2008•Cited by: 6•References: 49

The population genetics of the Indian subcontinent is central to understanding early human prehistory due to its strategic location on the proposed corridor of human movement from Africa to Australia during the late Pleistocene. Previous genetic research using mtDNA has emphasized the relative isolation of the late Pleistocene colonizers, and the physically isolated Andaman Island populations of Island South‐East Asia remain the source of claims …

  • Study on the Distribution of the MSY2 Polymorphism in 9 Chinese Populations

Xiangning Meng, Yali Xue et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropologischer Anzeiger•2005

The distribution of the MSY2 polymorphism in Chinese populations was analyzed by PCR. The results showed that the MSY2*4 allele, whose frequency in the total material was found to be 94.95%, was the common allele, while the distribution of the MSY2*3 allele was significantly different in the 416 tested males from the 9 populations under study. Based on the chi2-analysis, a distinct diversity was found in the non-group populations. Diversities wer…

  • Urban Parents’ Knowledge and Practices Regarding Managed Care

Glenn Flores, Milagros Abreu et al.•ARTICLE•Medical Care•2004•References: 6

BACKGROUND: Managed care is the dominant form of health insurance in the United States, covering millions of children. Little is known about whether inner-city parents adequately understand managed care's complex definitions and rules. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to examine managed care knowledge and practices among inner-city parents. METHODS: We conducted a cross-sectional survey of parents at inner-city community sites in Boston…
