  • Can mental fictionalism avoid cognitive collapse

    Bruno Molder•ARTICLE•Philosophical Psychology•2025

Mental fictionalism is a view about folk-psychological discourse, according to which using the discourse is akin to engaging in fiction. The cognitive collapse objection to mental fictionalism holds that the formulation of the position cannot avoid using folk-psychological notions, and therefore makes mental fictionalism self-refuting. This paper argues that there is still no satisfactory response to the cognitive collapse objection. One proposed…

  • Rahvapsühholoogia ajalised piirid / Temporal Limits of Folk Psychology

    Open Access•Bruno Molder•ARTICLE•Methis Studia humaniora Estonica•2024

Vaatluse alla tuleb eeldus, mille kohaselt vaimseid seisundeid individueeritakse rah…

The following kinds of disagreement are reviewed with respect to introspective disputes â verbal, metalinguistic, faultless, deep and genuine disagreements. The paper defends the conclusion that introspective debates are genuine debates that are mostly of the the…

  • Viis tõdemust filosoofia tõlkimisest

    Open Access•Bruno Molder•ARTICLE•Keel ja Kirjandus•2014

Artikkel põhineb 16. novembril 2012 Tallinna Ülikoolis toimunud seminaril „Tarkus tõlkes” peetud ettekandel. Tõlkimine on üks täiesti omanäoline tegevus.

  • First-Person Authority About One's Own Mind

    Open Access•Bruno Molder•ARTICLE•Trames Journal of the Humanities…•1997

According to the thesis of first-person authority, my knowledge of my own mental states is substantially different from my knowledge of the mental states of others. In this paper, the thesis of first-person authority is examined and refuted. The thesis consists of four different theses: self- intimacy, infallibility, indubitability and incorrigibility. It is possible to develop counter-arguments to all of them. Also, I attempt to show that ineffa…
