    Two of the major concerns in a burgeoning rape literature have been: (1) to determine whether people believe the myths about rape and (2) investigating the observers' attributions of responsibility for rape.     This paper analyzes assault victims' reactions over the course of two months. Specifically, reaction types are analyzed across four dimensions: behavioral changes, interpersonal difficulties, physical symptoms, and emotional responses. Initially, most rape victims report fairly high levels of disruption across three of the four reaction types, with some signs of recovery two months later. Patterns of reactions are also exhibited.     The topic of rape victimization emerged in the last decade as an important social problem. Using a sample of medical students, this paper attempts to unravel the attribution of responsibility imputed to the victim of rape.
