Jews and other foreigners’

We trace institutional influences on professional role identity reconstruction and extend theory by building bridges across institutional, organizational, and individual levels of analysis. Findings indicate that agentic reconstruction of prof…
Proliferation dangers associated with nuclear medicine
Abolishing the threat of nuclear war requires the outlawing of nuclear weapons and dismantling current nuclear weapon stockpiles, but also depends on eliminating access to fissile material (nuclear weapon fuel). The near-universal use of weapons-grade, highly enriched uranium (HEU) to produce radiopharmaceuticals is a significant proliferation hazard. Health professionals have a strategic opportunity and obligation to progress the elimination of …
Anglo-Jewish History
Heritage and community
This article charts an attempt to salvage the physical and documentary heritage of Manchester Jewry between 1969 and the early 1990s. A serious obstacle was the general indifference of the local community. Communal leaders were preoccupied with meeting the urgent needs of the Jewish present. A second generation had turned its back on a past it had long outgrown and now preferred to forget. In this unpromising context a small pressure group worked…
