Adolescent orientations toward and expectancies about competent action are important predictors of adult attainment. Using panel data, this study shows that part-time work experiences and mastery orientation are reciprocally related among adolescents. Adolescent Work Experience and Depressive Affect
Using longitudinal data from a panel of youth followed from the 9th to the 10th grade, we examine how facets of adolescents work influence depressive affects. The results support the hypothesis that work experiences contribute to depressed mood among adolescents. The findings also indicate that workers are more emotionally independent of their parents than non-working adolescents

The importance of assessing functional status in the hospitalized patient is gaining recognition. However, the availability and accuracy of medical record functional status data are uncertain.
