  • Determinants of the Social Environments of Sheltered Care Settings

Rudolf Mo, Rudolf Moss et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Health and Social…•1980•Cited by: 7

A conceptualframework is used to examine the relation of the social environments of sheltered care settings to the type of setting and three other sets of environmental domains: physical and architecturalfeatures, organizational policies and programs, and aggregafe resident and staff characteristics. The framework is illustrated with data from 90 sheltered care facilities. The relative importance of each set of variables as predictors of seven di…

  • Three Methods of Estimating a Model of Group Effects

    Open Access•Amnon Igra•ARTICLE•Sociological Methods & Research•1980•References: 16

Three methods of estimating a model of school effects, involving either contextual or structural variables, are compared. The comparison shows that two methods, ordinary least squares and an approach based on the analysis of covariance, produce unbiased estimators under a given set of assumptions. The third method, based on a residualized input-output approach, produces biased estimators. When the model involves only contextual variables, the fir…
