How Doctors in Bolivia and the Philippines View Sterilization
Attitudes toward sterilization of 165 Bolivian obstetrican/gynecologists surveyed in 1974 and those of a randomly selected group of 200 Philippine family planning physicians studied in 1972 are described. Although the attitudes of Bolivian respondents were less favorable to sterilization, a majority of both groups of physicians favored making sterilization available under certain conditions. A Mathematical Model for Determining Effectiveness of Family Planning Clinics
This paper uses a mathematical model to determine the differential success of some family planning clinics operated by a private organization in Colombia. Success is measured in terms of new recruits. Profamilia a private family planning organization was founded in Bogota Colombia in 1966. An examination of 22 clinics operated by Profamilia reveals that there are 2 current trends: 1) clinics in which the number of new acceptors recruited monthly …
Philippine Physicians' Influence on Acceptors' Selection of the IUD
A study was undertaken in the Philippines in 1972 to determine whether physicians influence the choice of contraceptive method particularly the IUD. The study population consisted of all physicians who had been working in Philippine government or private family planning clinics that had been in operation for at least 6 months as of December 30 1971 (1021 clinics). 200 family planning physicians were selected.
