This article explores the overcoming of evil in the biblical Book of Psalms, taking as its point of departure the so-called ‘sudden change of mood’ in the individual psalms of lamentation, where a psalmist proceeds from complaint to grateful praise with no obvious explanation. Tekst, oversættelse og diskussion af fragmenter af en aramaisk tekst (4Q561) fundet blandt Dødehavsrullerne, som ikke tidligere har været udgivet. De tidligere udgivne fragmenter beskæftiger sig med en art spådomskunst, mens de "nye" har et fortællende indhold, muligvis af eskatologisk art, hvilket kan tyde på, at der er tale om to forskellige tekster.
