Evaluating longitudinal relationships between parental monitoring and substance use in a multi-year, intensive longitudinal study of 670 adolescent twins

The genetic and environmental contributions to the development of general cognitive ability throughout the first 16 years of life were examined using sibling data from the Colorado Adoption Project. Correlations were analyzed along with structural equation models to characterize the genetic and environmental influences on longitudinal stability and instability. The heritability of inhibited and uninhibited behavior
Young children who respond to the unfamiliar with wariness and avoidance belong to a temperamental category called behaviorally inhibited; sociable children who approach the unfamiliar are called uninhibited. The Development and Validation of a Test Battery Measuring Specific Cognitive Abilities in Four-Year-Old Children
A battery of nine specific cognitive abilities tests to assess verbal, spatial, perceptual speed, and memory abilities in children at age 4 was constructed and administered to a sample of 267 children participating in the Colorado Adoption Project. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses revealed four correlated factors that adequately describe the covariation among the tests. The Development and Validation of a Test Battery to Measure Differentiated Cognitive Abilities in Three-Year-Old Children
A 35-40 minute battery of eight tests was constructed to measure the following four specific cognitive abilities in young, preschool children: verbal skill, memory, perceptual speed, and spatial ability. The battery was administered to 98 preschool children.
