  • A New Look at Sexual Behavior in Moving Vehicles Reported by Midwestern College Students

    Cindy Struckman-Johnson, Peter B Anderson et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Sex Research•2026•References: 2

We examined the prevalence and characteristics of sex in a moving vehicle among a sample of college students from a Midwestern University. We determined that among a sample of 967 primarily white, heterose x ual Midwestern college students (271 men, 684 women, 12 persons of alternative or missing gender), 281 (29.06%) had engaged in sex in a moving vehicle (SMV) as an occupant (either a driver or a passenger.) Of the final binary gender sample of…

We examined three proximal motives for sexual aggression (sexual persistence after a turn down): sexual arousal, power, and relationship. The MTurk sample consisted of 264 adults: 92 Millennial men (35%), 51 Millennial women (19%), 82 Gen X men (31%) and 39 Gen X women (15%). The motive data, measured by the Sexual Aggression Motive Assessment (SAMA), were unanalyzed data extracted from the authors' previous study of the Millennial shift, a pheno…

  • Predictors of Female Sexual Aggression Among a U.S. MTurk Sample

    Open Access•Cindy Struckman‐johnson, Cindy Struckman-Johnson et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Contemporary Criminal…•2020

We studied predictors of female sexual aggression (FSA) among a U.S. Mechanical Turk sample (from Amazon’s online crowdsourcing platform) of 634 adult women ( median age = 32). A logistic regression analysis revealed that five measures contributed significantly to a model predicting past use of a tactic of post-refusal sexual persistence (PRSP), accounting for 19% of variance. Women’s use of a PRSP tactic was associated with lower scores on two s…

Adult perpetration rates of sexual aggression (defined as: acts in which an individual uses verbal pressure, arousal techniques, coercion, alcohol or drugs, or force to have sexual contact with someone against his or her will) were compared among an MTurk sample of 341 Baby Boom-GenX men, 356 Baby Boom-GenX women, 465 Millennial men, and 309 Millennial women (Mdn age = 30). Logistic regression analyses revealed a significant generation by gender …
