Accuracy of Caregivers' Recollections of Caregiving Hassles
Despite their common use in clinical settings, caregivers' recollections of the hassles they face in caregiving have not been examined in previous research. Ninety-seven spousal caregivers of persons with dementia were assessed for 6 consecutive months concerning caregiving hassles and numerous other issues. Perceptions of grief among university students
Although research on grief has proliferated in recent years, few studies have attempted to examine the grief perceptions of people surrounding the bereaved. In this investigation, 123 undergraduates responded to an open-ended survey that assessed their perceptions of various aspects of grief, including physical and emotional features, time course, interpersonal impact, coping strategies, and methods of intervening. The present study was an attempt at replicating and extending previous findings regarding the development of the concept of death in children. Age, death concept development, general cognitive development, and background/experience variables were investigated with respect to their roles in death concept development.
