Impacts of topography and canopy height on tree diversity patterns at a major montane ecosystem in central China
Mid-elevational peaks are common trends in the elevational diversity of many taxa. Climate is believed a major driver for the elevational pattern of tree diversity in global forest ecosystems. However, it is unclear whether this pattern occurs at the Dabie Mountains, a major old-growth montane ecosystem and the main watershed between the Huai and Yangtze Rivers in central China. In order to assess the elevational diversity pattern of trees at the…

Survey results illuminate a lay belief tha…
Exotic blue pigments in the polychrome interior of Yongle Taoist Temple
Previous studies have established the use of various blue pigments, including both local and imported varieties, in the decoration of architecture in ancient China. However, the application of these pigments in local religious architecture has been understudied. In this study, the chemical analysis of ultramarine blue pigments was conducted on a mural painting retrieved from Yongle Taoist Temple in ancient China. The results showed that both impo…

Methods: A prospective study was performed in 91 patients with active AS in China. Adult patients (aged ≥ 18 years) fulfilled the 1984 New York modified criteria of AS with the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index ≥ 4 were enrolled. All participants received adalimumab (40 mg per 2 …
