  • Weih-, Dank- und Votivinschriften aus Neoklaudiopolis (Vezirköprü/Samsun İli, Türkei)

    Open Access•Vera Sauer, Eckart Olshausen•ARTICLE•Gephyra•2025

    Open Access•Vera Sauer, Eckart Olshausen•ARTICLE•Gephyra•2024

    Open Access•Vera Sauer, Eckart Olshausen•ARTICLE•Gephyra•2023

It is quite likely that all five inscriptions from Neoklaudiopolis/Vezirköprü presented in this paper are acclamations. They originate from Christian context. The objects on which they are placed – apart from one capital – cannot be identified with absolute certainty. In one case, it is probably a sarcophagus, in another a part of a pilaster, in the other two cases plinths – or, although less likely, weights of wine or oil presses. Four of the ob…

  • Neue Grabinschriften aus Neoklaudiopolis (Vezirköprü/Samsun İli, Türkei)

    Open Access•Vera Sauer, Eckart Olshausen•ARTICLE•Gephyra•2021

Up to now, about 140 funerary inscriptions were known from the territory of Neoklaudiopolis/Vezirköprü. In this contribution, 14 more are presented, one of which, however, may be attributed to Amaseia/Amasya (no. 4). They were recorded between 1988 and 1990 by Eckart Olshausen and Gerhard Kahl. All of them date back to the Roman Imperial period. One of the stelae stands out for its unusually high-quality stone carving (no. 8); it was erected by a…

  • The Strength of Weak Ties Revisited

    Open Access•Nicole C Krämer, Vera Sauer et al.•ARTICLE•Social Media + Society•2021•Cited by: 6•References: 65

In this work, we challenge the assumption that weak ties play uniquely important social support roles on social network sites, particularly regarding informational support. To overcome methodological limitations of earlier research, we present a mixed-methods study. Forty-one participants were interviewed and asked to identify five weak, medium, and strong ties each and to report on perceived and actually received social support (emotional, infor…
