A Sacred Symbol for Modern Warriors: Social Construction of the Fire Helmet
Incorporating the institutional field perspective, we connect Durkheim's classical work on sacred objects and Collins' framework on interaction ritual chains to offer a more comprehensive explanation on the social construction of the American‐style fire helmet as a sacred symbol in U.S. firefighting.
