  • Exploring the emotional experiences of implementing GenAI-assisted digital multimodal composing: An autobiographic self-study

Open Access•Zixuan Li, Yunan Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Innovation in Language Learning…•2026

As generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) becomes increasingly integrated into digital multimodal composing (DMC) in L2 writing classrooms, teachers face heightened emotional demands alongside pedagogical and technological change. This autobiographical self-study examines how an L2 writing teacher experienced and managed emotions while implementing an eight-week GenAI-assisted DMC project in a university English course. Drawing on reflective …

  • Constructing translanguaging spaces through GenAI-assisted digital multimodal composing: A virtual ethnography on platform language teacherpreneurs

Yunan Zhang, Lianjiang Jiang•ARTICLE•Journal of Multilingual and…•2026

Recent years have witnessed the emergence of language teachers who engage in piecemeal and digitally mediated work on online platforms, referred to as platform language teacherpreneurs, who have received little scholarly attention. Addressing this gap, this study conceptualises the video-making practices of online language teachers as digital multimodal composing (DMC) and examines how they engage in GenAI-assisted DMC. We conducted a virtual eth…

  • The mediating and moderating roles of physical sub-health in the relationship between family functioning and mental health problems among Chinese adolescents

Open Access•Yunan Zhang, Yunxiao Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2026

Adolescent mental health is shaped by both family environments and physical well-being. However, the role of physical sub-health, a state of functional imbalance and fatigue prior to diagnosable illness, remains poorly understood in this process. This study examined whether physical sub-health serves both as a psychosomatic pathway and as a vulnerability factor linking family functioning to adolescent mental health. A cross-sectional survey was c…

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the combined impact of comorbid chronic diseases and depressive symptoms on the risk of cognitive impairment in middle-aged and older adults populations. It also explored the interaction mechanisms and provided scientific evidence for cognitive health interventions. Methods: Data from the 2020 wave of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) were used, including 16,890 participants age…

  • The simulation experiments on the burial process of Paleolithic adhesive

    Yunan Zhang, Yu’nan ZHANG•ARTICLE•Prehistoric Archaeology•2025

  • Development Coordination of Chinese Megacities Using the Node–Place–Value Model: A Case Study of Changsha

Open Access•Kun Yan Zhu, Wenxuan Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Urban Science•2025

With the acceleration of urbanization, urban regeneration has become a critical strategy for megacities to address spatial fragmentation and inefficient resource allocation. However, the mismatch between transportation nodes and land development potential remains a key barrier to sustainable urban renewal. This research takes the urban renewal areas in Changsha as a typical case. Based on the “Node–Place–Value” (NPV) model, a multi-dimensional ev…

  • First Evidence for Adhesive and Composite-tool Use During the Upper Palaeolithic in South China

Yunan Zhang, Sanling Li et al.•ARTICLE•Lithic Technology•2025•Cited by: 1•References: 46

Adhesive, frequently associated with hafting technology and composite tools, is a useful indicator of the complex technological behaviors and cognitive abilities of Palaeolithic people. However, in China, no direct evidence of Palaeolithic adhesive has yet been discovered. Here, by combining lithic residue and use-wear analysis, we provide its first documentation at the MIS 2 site of Shanghu. Our study reveals use of plant adhesive that, we sugge…
