  • How Many Species, Taxa, or Lineages of Cebus albifrons (Platyrrhini, Primates) Inhabit Ecuador? Insights from Mitogenomics

    Open Access•Manuel Ruiz‐garcía, Manuel Ruiz-García et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2018•Cited by: 1•References: 96

  • Molecular phylogenetics and phylogeography of all the Saimiri taxa (Cebidae, Primates) inferred from mt COI and Coii gene sequences

    Open Access•Manuel Ruiz‐garcía, Manuel Ruiz-García et al.•ARTICLE•Primates•2015

  • Genetic characterization and structure of the endemic Colombian silvery brown bare-face tamarin, Saguinus leucopus (Callitrichinae, Cebidae, Primates)

    Open Access•Manuel Ruiz‐garcía, Manuel Ruiz-García et al.•ARTICLE•Primates•2014

  • Molecular systematics and phylogeography of Cebus capucinus (Cebidae, Primates) in Colombia and Costa Rica by means of the mitochondrial Coii gene

Open Access•Manuel Ruiz‐garcía, María Ignacia Castillo et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Primatology•2012

We propose the first molecular systematic hypothesis for the origin and evolution of Cebus capucinus based on an analysis of 710 base pairs (bp) of the cytochrome c oxidase subunit II (COII) mitochondrial gene in 121 C. capucinus specimens sampled in the wild. The animals came from the borders of Guatemala and Belize, Costa Rica, and eight different departments of Colombia (Antioquia, Chocó, Sucre, Bolivar, Córdoba, Magdalena, Cauca, and Valle de…

  • Molecular Phylogenetics of Aotus (Platyrrhini, Cebidae)

    Open Access•Manuel Ruiz‐garcía, Manuel Ruiz-García et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2011•Cited by: 2•References: 45

  • Phylogeny and phylogeography of squirrel monkeys (genus Saimiri ) based on cytochrome b genetic analysis

Open Access•Anne Lavergne, Manuel Ruiz‐garcía et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Primatology•2010

Squirrel monkeys (genus Saimiri ) are distributed over a wide area encompassing the Amazon Basin: French Guiana, Suriname, and Guyana, together with Western Panama and Western Costa Rica. The genus Saimiri includes a complex of species and subspecies displaying considerable morphological variation. Taxonomic and systematic studies have identified, in this genus, one to seven species comprising up to 16 subspecies. The phylogenetic relationships b…

  • Genetic population history relationships of the population of Bogotá, Colombia, by using the D1S80, VWA, and TH01 molecular markers

Open Access•Rocio Duran, Rocio M Duran et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Human Biology•2001

The genetic relationships of the population of Bogotá, Colombia, was comparatively studied with regard to other populations from America, Europe, and Asia, by using the D1S80, VWA, and TH01 molecular loci. From a population history point of view, the population of Bogotá seems to be more related to a European origin, with several differential contributions coming from Amerindians rather than from African and Asian populations, when the D1S80 and …
