Visiting the Oracle at Dodona: Contexts of Unknowing in Ancient Greek Religion
Previous studies of Greek oracles have largely studied their social and political connections. In contrast, this pioneering volume explores the experience of visiting the oracle of Zeus at Dodona in NW Greece, focusing on the role of the senses and embodied cognition. Building on the unique corpus of oracular question tablets found at the site, it investigates how this experience made new ways of knowing and new forms of knowledge available. Comb…

Photogrammetry, 3D modelling and printing: The creation of a collection of archaeological and epigraphical materials at the university
The aim of this contribution is to present the Experimenting Digital Antiquity Project undertaken at the Complutense University in 2021–2022. The initiative consisted of encouraging new teaching methodologies by creating a collection of copies of ancient finds printed with 3D technology. This required a series of carefully organised steps that can be summarised as training students in the skills needed to carry out the photogrammetry of artifacts…

Experiencing Dodona: The Development of the Epirote Sanctuary from Archaic to Hellenistic Times
A monograph concerning the sanctuary of Dodona and its role in the political context of Epirus might be a remarkable input. Located in a region that has received more interest in the last years, this book attempts to analyze the way the shrine evolved in connection with the political developments of its surrounding region. The study employs a diachronic perspective and emphasizes throughout that religion was a dynamic, not a static, phenomenon. T…
