  • China's sovereign debt market (1921–37)

Dan Li, Yajie Wang et al.•ARTICLE•The Economic History Review•2026

China's sovereign debt market emerged with the establishment of the Shanghai Chinese Merchant Stock Exchange (SCMSE) in 1921 during the Beijing Era (1912–27) and flourished in the Prewar Nanjing Era (1927–37), when it dominated the securities market. Despite this growth, our analysis of weekly SCMSE–traded debt returns shows that the market lacked even weak form efficiency throughout the period. This inefficiency fostered a rumour‐driven environm…

  • Perspective taking shapes creative performance in human-AI collaboration

Man Zhang, Yang Peng et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2026

Open Access•Hongkun Qiu, Haojie Zhu et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Education•2026

Contribution: This study proposes a student performance prediction model that leverages real-world data on students’ daily academic activities to forecast their academic outcomes. The predicted results can be used to provide students with personalized and adaptive support. Background: Traditional educational assessment systems face systemic challenges such as weak data support, high subjectivity, lack of scientific rigor, and insufficient persona…

  • Uncovering the prevalence, risk factors and consequences of school bullying in China’s rural primary schools

Open Access•Wenting Liu, Yuyang Xie et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

The findings underscore the critical need for targeted interventions to mitigate school bullying in rural China. Understanding the risk factors and the negative consequences of bullying is essential for developing effective prevention strategies and improving student welfare. The study contributes to the literature by providing insights into bullying in underdeveloped areas and by using internationally standardized measures, which enhances the co…

  • Research on provincial implied carbon emissions in China under the shared responsibility driven by new quality productivity

    Open Access•Yingying Du, Haibin Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Futures•2024•References: 3

The allocation of responsibility for carbon emissions among involved parties has garnered significant attention. This study proposes a comprehensive sharing coefficient methodology known as CVAT (direct carbon emissions, value added, and technology level) to enhance the accuracy and equity of responsibility sharing driven by the new productivity standard. This study utilizes the environmental expansion multi-region input-output (EEMRIO) model to …

  • Elimination of hepatitis C in a hospital characterized by infectious diseases

Open Access•Ying Han, Mei Zheng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

Background The World Health Organization has proposed to eliminate hepatitis C by 2030, yet there is still a large gap to the goal. Screening for hepatitis C is cost-effective and efficient in medical institutions. The aim of this study was to identify the key populations for HCV antibody screening in hospital characterized by infectious diseases, and provide estimates of the proportion of HCV-infected persons in the Beijing Ditan hospital comple…

  • Optimizing Peer Distribution of Syphilis Self-Testing Among Men Who Have Sex with Men in China

Open Access•Yajie Wang, Wei Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Archives of Sexual Behavior•2023•References: 29

Syphilis testing uptake is low among men who have sex with men (MSM) around the world. Syphilis self-testing (SST) may complement facility-based testing; the distribution model is yet to be explored. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of peer distribution of syphilis self-testing on promoting syphilis testing. We conducted a three-arm, unblinded, parallel individually randomized controlled trial among MSM in three cities in Guangdo…

  • Syphilis Self-Testing Among Female Sex Workers in China

Open Access•Cheng Wang, Xia Li et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Background Syphilis self-testing (SST) may help expand syphilis test uptake among female sex workers. However, there has been no studies on examining SST among female sex workers. We aim to examine SST experience and its determinants among female sex workers in China. Methods A venue-based, cross-sectional study of female sex workers was conducted in eight Chinese cities in 2019. Participants completed a survey including socio-demographic charact…

  • Sexualized Drug Use Among Female Sex Workers from Eight Cities in China

Open Access•Jason J Ong, Mingzhou Xiong et al.•ARTICLE•Archives of Sexual Behavior•2022

There is a rich literature on sexualized drug use (i.e., drug use before or during sex) for men who have sex with men but less data from female sex workers (FSW), particularly from low- and middle-income countries. We describe the sexual and reproductive health outcomes in FSW reporting sexualized drug use. In 2019, we conducted a cross-sectional study in eight cities from seven provinces in China. We recruited FSW through community organizations…
