  • Development and Validation of a Mobile Table with Attached Scanner for Tree-Ring Studies

Marcelo Callegari Scipioni, José Pacheco et al.•ARTICLE•Tree-Ring Research•2025

Large tropical tree samples are driving new research in dendrochronology. The development of imaging tools for these substantial samples represents a significant challenge. Specifically, tree-ring measurements are strongly associated with images acquired through scanning, with an A3 large-format scanner being the preferred choice for these sizable samples. However, the literature lacks information about image distortions resulting from this appro…

  • Stable Isotope Composition (C and N) of Vegetation in Subtropical Andes: Piedmont ‘Anomaly’ and its Implications for Paleo (Ecology) and Human Diet Reconstruction

Julieta N Aranibar, Julieta Gabriela Arco Molina et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Archaeology•2023•Cited by: 6•References: 5

Isotope baselines are fundamental to infer diets, and to evaluate trophic relationships between humans, animals, and plants. In this study, we aim to detect spatial patterns of δ13C and δ15N of different plant types (C3, C4 and CAM) along environmental gradients in the eastern slopes of the southern Andes, in order to use them as a baseline to reconstruct animal diet, mobility, and trophic relations in the area. The stable isotope composition of …

  • The impact of mining on the woody vegetation of the southern Andes: A study of charcoal from the Andean Precordillera in central western Argentina in the 18th and 19th centuries

    Open Access•Luis Eduardo Mafferra, H Chiavazza et al.•ARTICLE•Vegetation History and…•2018•Cited by: 5•References: 13

  • Dendroarchaeological dating of Renaissance Mudejar artefacts in western Spain

Open Access•D Paton, Daniel Patón Domínguez et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science•2018•Cited by: 1•References: 3

  • Fuegian floating tree-ring chronology from subfossil Nothofagus wood

    Open Access•Fidel A Roig, F Roig et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•1996•Cited by: 2

The discovery of subfossil Nothofagus wood buried in several peat bogs of Argentine Tierra del Fuego is reported. A provisional, fragmented-floating tree-ring width chronology covering the last 1400 years has been obtained. Statistical and spectral analysis revealed no significant differences between the present and floating Tierra del Fuego tree-ring chronologies. Some cyclical growth peculiarities found in both modern and floating chronologies …
