Basic ultradian components of daytime sleepiness in human subjects
The basic ultradian rhythm of daytime sleepiness was investigated in eight male students using principal component analysis (PCA). After 8 h of sleep, daytime sleepiness was evaluated for every 30 min from 0800 to 1900 by five measures: MSLT, Kwansei-Gakuin Sleepiness Scale (KSS), EEG delta, theta and alpha activities.
