  • Terra Incognita

Open Access•Allison Stanger, Jakub Kraus et al.•ARTICLE•Annual Review of Political Science•2024•Cited by: 4•References: 5

While generative AI shares some similarities with previous technological breakthroughs, it also raises unique challenges for containing social and economic harms. State approaches to AI governance vary; some lay a foundation for transnational governance whereas others do not. We consider some technical dimensions of AI safety in both open and closed systems, as well as the ideas that are presently percolating to safeguard their future development…

  • Imagery‐induced negative affect, social touch and frontal EEG power band activity

Open Access•Jakub Kraus, Róbert Román et al.•ARTICLE•Scandinavian Journal of Psychology•2020

Social touch seems to modulate emotions, but its brain correlates are poorly understood. Here, we investigated if frontal power band activity in the electroencephalogram (EEG) during aversive mental imagery is modulated by social touch from one’s romantic partner and a stranger. We observed the highest theta and beta power when imaging alone, next so when being touched by a stranger, with lowest theta and beta activity during holding hands with t…

Some of the differences were thought to be attributable …

  • Drug Education

    Open Access•Jakub Kraus•ARTICLE•Australian Journal of Social Issues•1979•Cited by: 1•References: 4

Findings of research (conducted mainly by outsiders of the programs) have accumulated, which showed that the dissemination of drug knowledge not only does not prevent but could actually encourage drug experimentation by juveniles. Although a new ideology, which stresses education about ‘effective living’ instead of about drugs, has been propagated for a number of years now, its presumed prophylactic effects have yet to be demonstrated by its supp…
