  • Can a Food Justice Movement Improve Nutrition and Health? A Case Study of the Emerging Food Movement in New York City

Open Access•Nicholas Freudenberg, John Mcdonough et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Urban Health•2011•Cited by: 2•References: 8

  • Mitochondrial DNA variation within and among regional populations of longtail macaques ( Macaca fascicularis ) in relation to other species of the fascicularis group of macaques

Open Access•David Glenn Smith, John Mcdonough et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Primatology•2007

An 835 base pair (bp) fragment of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) was sequenced to characterize genetic variation within and among 1,053 samples comprising five regional populations each of longtail macaques ( Macaca fascicularis ) and rhesus macaques ( Macaca mulatta ), and one sample each of Japanese ( M. fuscata ) and Taiwanese ( M. cyclopis ) macaques. The mtDNA haplotypes of longtail macaques clustered in two large highly structured clades (Fas1 a…

  • Genetic analysis of early holocene skeletal remains from Alaska and its implications for the settlement of the Americas

    Open Access•Brian M Kemp, Ripan S Malhi et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•2007•Cited by: 39•References: 89

Mitochondrial and Y‐chromosome DNA were analyzed from 10,300‐year‐old human remains excavated from On Your Knees Cave on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska (Site 49‐PET‐408). This individual's mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) represents the founder haplotype of an additional subhaplogroup of haplogroup D that was brought to the Americas, demonstrating that widely held assumptions about the genetic composition of the earliest Americans are incorrect. The amo…

  • Genetic characterization of rhesus macaques ( Macaca mulatta ) in Nepal

    Open Access•Randall C Kyes, Lisa Jones‐Engel et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Primatology•2006

Indian‐origin rhesus macaques ( Macaca mulatta ) have long served as an animal model for the study of human disease and behavior. Given the current shortage of Indian‐origin rhesus, many researchers have turned to rhesus macaques from China as a substitute. However, a number of studies have identified marked genetic differences between the Chinese and Indian animals. We investigated the genetic characteristics of a third rhesus population, the rh…

  • Identification of Country of Origin and Admixture Between Indian and Chinese Rhesus Macaques

Open Access•David Glenn Smith, Debra George et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2006•Cited by: 4•References: 23

  • Mitochondrial DNA variation in Chinese and Indian rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta)

Open Access•David Glenn Smith, John Mcdonough•ARTICLE•American Journal of Primatology•2005

DNA was extracted from the buffy coats or serum of 212 rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) sampled throughout the species' geographic range. An 835 base pair (bp) fragment of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) was amplified from each sample, sequenced, aligned, and used to estimate genetic distances from which phylogenetic trees were constructed. A tree that included sequences from rhesus macaques whose exact origins in China are known was used to determine …

  • Table des comptes rendus — ordre alphabétique d’auteurs

    Open Access•J-Jean, Michle Michle et al.•ARTICLE•Revue d histoire de l Amérique…•1977•References: 1

Table des comptes rendus — ordre alphabétique d’auteurs. Un article de la revue Revue d'histoire de l'Amérique française (Index des volumes XXI-XXX (juin 1967-mars 1977)) diffusée par la plateforme Érudit

  • Social Articulation and Aggregation in Political Party Organizations in a Large Canadian City

    Open Access•Henry J Jacek, Henry Jacek et al.•ARTICLE•Canadian Journal of Political…•1975•References: 6

  • The Congruence of Federal-Provincial Campaign Activity in Party Organizations

    Open Access•Henry J Jacek, Henry Jacek et al.•ARTICLE•Canadian Journal of Political…•1972•Cited by: 8•References: 3

  • France in the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress

    John Mcdonough, James E O'Neill•ARTICLE•French Historical Studies•1965

  • Emotional Elevations of Blood Pressure in Trained Dogs

    Charles M Wilhelmj, Terence F McGuire et al.•ARTICLE•Psychosomatic Medicine•1953

In normal trained dogs many trivial factors such as strangers in the laboratory, previous noise and confusion in the kennels, changes in the daily experimental routine, an unexpected change of experimenters, or the presence of a female dog in estrus may cause pronounced emotional disturbances resulting in marked and sudden elevation of blood pressure. The extent of the emotional blood pressure response depends upon the natural emotional reactivit…
