  • Exilio y horror en las obras de María Zambrano y Adriana Cavarero

    Open Access•Karolina Enquist Källgren•ARTICLE•ENDOXA•2022

  • Scheler and Zambrano

Open Access•Karolina Enquist Källgren, Íngrid Vendrell Ferran•ARTICLE•History of European Ideas•2022•References: 2

This paper compares the concept of the heart in the works of Max Scheler and María Zambrano. Both authors use the heart as a metaphor for distinct human affective phenomena that have a central anthropological, epistemological, and ontological significance. The comparison between authors’ use of the metaphor is organised around three main topics: the order of the heart; the idea of a primordial feeling and its place in the affective life; and the …

  • Circulation of Fundamental Concepts

    Karolina Enquist Källgren•ARTICLE•History of Humanities•2021

In this article, the concept of generation is studied as a case of the circulation of fundamental concepts between sociology and various disciplines in the humanities. It is argued that this concept underwent a change in meaning as it was transferred into the newly established German discipline of sociology. This change was marked by an increasing spatialization of a concept hitherto mainly temporal in nature. Moving from art history into philoso…

  • Exile Boundary Crossing

    Open Access•Karolina Enquist Källgren•ARTICLE•European Review•2020•References: 1

In the late works of María Zambrano (1904–1991), the author presents exile as a particular kind of experience, by which the structure and arquitectonics of human existence become visible. Similarly, in his posthumously published Passagen-Werk Walter Benjamin (1892–1940) introduces the flanêur – which he repeatedly likens to the immigrant or exile – as the representation of a particular kind of gaze, disclosing the arquitectonics and structure of …

  • María Zambrano’s theory of subjectivity and modal ontology

Karolina Enquist Källgren•ARTICLE•History of European Ideas•2018

Zambrano is well-known for her critique of the ideal subject, as well as of philosophy and ‘Western’ reason. Despite this critique, notions like the individual and reason in her works has not been thoroughly analysed. Enquist Källgren argues that Zambrano’s texts contains a comprehensive theory of subjectivity. It is shown that Zambrano’s notion of subjectivity presupposes a structure that positions the human being in a modal relation to her surr…
