  • Perceptions and determinants of environmental concern: The case of Hong Kong and its implications for sustainable development

    Environmental concern is a precursor to behavioural change. This article draws upon data from two surveys conducted in 2000 and 2008 to examine the development of environmental concern in Hong Kong and its major determinants.     Based on a survey of Hong Kong residents, this article explores the attitudes towards the welfare state and whether or not there are significant differences between different social classes with regard to their approval of the welfare state.   • Democratic theorizing in Taiwan: A reconstruction

    This study reconstructs Taiwan people's existing discursive structures on democracy by replicating Dryzek and Berejikian's Q methodological study of American democratic discourses.
