From status inconsistency to revisionism
This paper delves into the shifts in the foreign policy of Russia, considering what has determined Russia's grand strategy orientation after the collapse of the Soviet Union. It also attempts to offer an explanation of why Russia becomes discounted with the ‘constitutive and normative structure’, and how its foreign policy shifted toward the anti-status quo orientation, especially after the color revolutions. The main purpose of this paper is to …

Is China Destined to Play High-politics in East Asia
The aim of this paper is to project China's emerging path towards high politics in East Asia, which is ostensibly spawned by regional geopolitical dynamics. Hegemonic transition, replacing hegemonic stability, is seemingly activating the dynamics. There is almost an inexorable move towards predominance, by the two major powers, that tends to get stimulated by the presence of issues that may trigger conflict, possibly war. These issues range from …
China's Proposed Maritime Silk Road
The aim of this article is to explore the challenges and opportunities of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road – presumably a gigantic economic project launched by China – for better connectivity and economic cooperation in Asia. The article examines the variables that may either limit or bolster its implementation. The project, once implemented, is likely to give rise to both economic and strategic upshots. Economically, it is likely to be win–wi…
South Asian Regional Integration – Challenges and Prospects
South Asian regional integration is seemingly confronting many challenges. The aim of this paper is to identify those challenges and also look for prospects. Although regional integration in South Asia has adopted a kind of institutionalization, it is yet to deliver any concrete outcomes. High-politics and the not-so-conducive regional economic structures hinder any effectual culmination. However, constructivism, as a theory, is given due credenc…
C hina's Power Politics and Modernization

Given that C hina is growing exponentially in the economic field and it has many flashpoints to deal with, its military modernization is understandably a historical inevitability. It primarily has the U nited S tates, J apan, and T aiwan to confront …

On the anatomical organization of the vagal nuclei
The neurons of origin of the right vagus and its components in both the monkey ( Macaca fascicularis ) and albino rats were localized by the retrograde transport of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) applied to the stomach wall, the vagal trunk and its recurrent laryngeal branch. An attempt was also made to localize the neurons forming the superior laryngeal nerve and those supplying the thoracic organs by a combination of operative procedures. The res…
