Introduction Pneumococcal conjugate vaccines have reduced severe disease attributed to vaccine-type pneumococci in children. This article, drawing upon a quantitative survey of over 80 parliamentarians, as well as website surveys combined with qualitative interviews, explores the degree of usage of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) by Swedish parliamentarians. The article reviews the studies of international reactions to the Swedish euro referendum of 14 September 2003. The authors argue that the country may consequently face a 'Swedish euro Paradox' that will make any attempts by the Swedish political elite to push forward adoption of the euro in the future rather problematic
