A National Trauma-Informed Adverse Childhood Experience Screening and Intervention Evaluation Project
All 46 participating practices implemented ACE screening by the project's conclusion. Of the patients eligible for ACE screening, over half were screened for ACEs during the program. Providers increased comfort with discussing ACEs and screening questions. During the first month, the practices were reported to have provided education to 56% of patients, and by the end of the project, this rate increased to 79% of patients. Overall, 97% of caregiv…

Topic drop in German: Empirical support for an information-theoretic account to a long-known omission phenomenon
German allows for topic drop (Fries 1988), the omission of a preverbal constituent from a V2 sentence. I address the underexplored question of why speakers use topic drop with a corpus study and two acceptability rating studies. I propose an information-theoretic explanation based on the Uniform Information Density hypothesis (Levy and Jaeger 2007) that accounts for the full picture of data. The information-theoretic approach predicts that topic …
The Cards and Lottery Task: Validation of a New Paradigm Assessing Decision Making Under Risk in Individuals With Severe Obesity
This study identified the CLT to be a highly promising, new complex measure of short- and long-term decision making with good reliability and validity in individuals with severe obesity. Future studies should assess its association with the IGT and predictive value for real-life health behavior
Town twinning and political support
Does town twinning foster citizens’ political support of the European Union? This study investigates the relation, which is maintained in politics and academics but still calls for empirical evidence. We distinguish between two levels of analysis, namely individual and context level, and differentiate in accordance with David Easton’s modes of political support specific from diffuse support. The corresponding hypotheses are tested with a unique d…
