  • A Passiflora incarnata extract exerts multi-target effects on selected sleep-related receptors

Open Access•Kurt Appel, Ilona Schwarzensteiner et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2026

Ethnopharmacological relevance Since ancient times, passionflower ( Passiflora incarnata L. ) is used to treat insomnia, nervousness, anxiety, and other neurological conditions, but the understanding of the underlying neurophysiological processes is largely limited to the involvement of the GABAergic system. Aim of the study This work aims to elucidate the mechanism by which P . incarnata modulates selected sleep-promoting receptors and neurotran…

Open Access•Sibylle Winter, Sibylle M Winter et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Child Psychology and…•2022

  • Universal Basic Income versus Unemployment Insurance

Alice Fabre, Stéphane Pallage et al.•REPORT•2014

In this paper we compare the welfare effects of unemployment insurance (UI) with an universal basic income (UBI) system in an economy with idiosyncratic shocks to employment. Both policies provide a safety net in the face of idiosyncratic shocks. While the unemployment insurance program should do a better job at protecting the unemployed, it suffers from moral hazard and substantial monitoring costs, which may threaten its usefulness. The univers…

  • Measuring Unemployment Insurance Generosity

    Open Access•Stéphane Pallage, Lyle Scruggs et al.•ARTICLE•Political Analysis•2013•Cited by: 4•References: 25

Unemployment insurance policies are multidimensional objects, with variable waiting periods, eligibility duration, benefit levels, and asset tests, making intertemporal or international comparisons very difficult. Furthermore, labor market conditions, such as the likelihood and duration of unemployment, matter when assessing the generosity of different policies. In this article, we develop a new methodology to measure the generosity of unemployme…

  • Heterodox economics and dissemination of research through the internet

Open Access•Marco Novarese, Christian Zimmermann et al.•ARTICLE•On the Horizon The International…•2008•Cited by: 3

Purpose This paper seeks to study how the democratization of the diffusion of research through the internet could have helped non‐traditional fields of research. Design/methodology/approach The specific case the authors approach is heterodox economics as its pre‐prints are disseminated through NEP, the e‐mail alert service of RePEc. Findings Comparing heterodox and mainstream papers, the authors find that the heterodox are quite systematically mo…
