  • The potential of post-intentional phenomenology as a methodology for research in early childhood education

    Open Access•Mengran Liu•ARTICLE•Contemporary Issues in Early…•2026

Post-intentional phenomenology is a methodological approach developed by Mark Vagle that treats meanings and experiences as multiple, shifting and context-dependent rather than fixed. Evolving from the work of Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger, this approach also builds on Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari's post-structural view of knowledge as fluid. It asks researchers to take a ‘post-reflexive’ stance on how people, ideas, contexts and texts…

  • Bridging the research–practice divide in exploring early childhood education quality

Open Access•Mengran Liu, Alfredo Bautista•ARTICLE•Contemporary Issues in Early…•2025

Drawing on a growing body of international literature that conceptualises early childhood education (ECE) quality as a culturally constructed rather than a universal notion, this colloquium discusses how quality is being investigated in China, a country where ECE research has grown exponentially in recent years. The colloquium is structured into two main sections, highlighting the differing approaches to quality inquiry among Chinese academic res…

Mengran Liu, Menglian LIU et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2024

  • Immigrants as natural supporters? Cross‐nation analysis with a multilevel mixed‐effects model

    Open Access•Skylar Biyang Sun, Xiaohang Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•Political Psychology•2024•Cited by: 3•References: 57

Research often finds that immigrants tend to have a different profile from locals regarding confidence in the government. Both the origin's and destination's institutional features can influence immigrants' confidence. Scholars have relied on three major models—the cultural‐persistence model, the performance model, and the dual‐reference model—to explain the possible mechanisms behind this difference. Our research builds on previous studies by ex…

  • The Construction and Optimization of Ecological Security Pattern in the Harbin-Changchun Urban Agglomeration, China

Open Access•Rong Guo, Yujing Bai et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

Urban agglomerations have become a new geographical unit in China, breaking the administrative fortresses between cities, which means that the population and economic activities between cities will become more intensive in the future. Constructing and optimizing the ecological security pattern of urban agglomerations is important for promoting harmonious social-economic development and ecological protection. Using the Harbin-Changchun urban agglo…
