Development and Evaluation of Shortcut-Derived Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate a shortcut method for developing Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales (BARS). The developmental method included two novel steps: (a) the performance of judgmental cluster analysis to define scales and (b) the direct placement of behavioral incidents on the scales rather than the use of the retranslation step. Psychometric Characteristics of a Preemployment Screening Device
Compu-Scan is a preemployment screening device which considers a job applicant's potential for such undesirable behaviors as substance abuse, theft, and violation of company policy to assign an over-all risk score. A “theft” subscale score may also be derived. This study assessed certain psychometric characteristics of Compu-Scan.
