This work analyzes voting for president to determine the impact of abortion attitudes on candidate choice in the six elections from 1972 through 1992. This rule was tested with data from CBS News/New York Times exit polls for the 1980 Republican presidential primaries in Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
