  • Dual-track in the family: How spousal state employment fuels entrepreneurship

Open Access•Wenchao Li, Yifan Lin et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Development Economics•2026

  • The C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte index: A novel biomarker for metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease across three ethnic cohorts

Open Access•Yaojian Shao, Yusheng Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) has emerged as a widespread chronic hepatic disorder worldwide. Early identification of individuals at elevated likelihood of MAFLD is crucial for preventing disease progression. The C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index, a novel composite biomarker reflecting systemic inflammation, nutritional status, and immune competence, offers potential utility in risk stra…

  • The Integrated Choice and Latent Variable Model for Exploring the Mechanisms of Pedestrian Route Choice

Open Access•Cheng-Jie Jin, Cheng‐Jie Jin et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2025

The Integrated Choice and Latent Variable (ICLV) model has been widely applied in travel behavior studies, yet its use in understanding pedestrian route choice remains very limited. This paper seeks to address this gap by analyzing data from a series of controlled pedestrian route choice experiments. Four groups of experimental runs were designed, each involving two route options. The first three groups introduced specific controls: bottlenecks, …

  • Breaking boundaries: A social–ecological network approach to collaborative governance of soil erosion risk

Open Access•Yifan Lin, Jian Peng et al.•ARTICLE•AMBIO•2025•References: 44

  • Phytochemical determination and mechanistic investigation of Polygala tenuifolia root (Yuanzhi) extract for bronchitis: UPLC-MS/MS analysis, network pharmacology and in vitro/in vivo evaluation

Open Access•Tao Chen, Xian Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2024

This study demonstrated the potential therapeutic effects of PLE on bronchitis by reducing cough, phlegm and inflammation. The anti-inflammatory action and molecular mechanisms of the 5 main bioactive compounds in PLE were partly validated through the in vitro assays. The findings provide valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying the traditional use of PLE for bronchitis

  • The anti-hepatocellular carcinoma effect of Aidi injection was related to the synergistic action of cantharidin, formononetin, and isofraxidin through Birc5, FEN1, and EGFR

Open Access•Shan Lu, Jiaqi Huang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2024

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Aidi injection (ADI) is a popular anti-tumor Chinese patent medicine, widely used in clinics for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with remarkable therapeutic effects through multiple targets and pathways. However, the scientific evidence of the synergistic role of the complex chemical component system and the potential mechanism for treating diseases are ignored and remain to be elucidated. AIM OF TH…

  • Pien Tze Huang attenuated acetaminophen-induced liver injury by autophagy mediated-NLRP3 inflammasome inhibition

Open Access•Ruowei Zhao, Qing Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2023

  • Anti-Elab Movement, National Security Law, and heterogeneous institutional trust in Hong Kong

    Open Access•Hans H Tung, Maggie J Lin et al.•ARTICLE•Japanese Journal of Political…•2021•Cited by: 4•References: 27

How does repression on opposition protests affect citizens' institutional trust under dictatorships? There has been a burgeoning literature investigating empirically both long- and short-term impacts of protests and their repression on citizens' political preferences in both democratic and nondemocratic contexts. Yet, the literature tells us relatively little about how the above question could be answered. This paper tries to answer this question…

  • Optimizing the ultra-dense 5G base stations in urban outdoor areas: Coupling GIS and heuristic optimization

  • Time trends and heterogeneity in the disease burden of glaucoma, 1990-2017: A global analysis

Open Access•Yichi Zhang, Guangming Jin et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Global Health•2019

BACKGROUND: To evaluate the disease burden of glaucoma in terms of disability-adjusted life years (DALY) and assess the contribution of risk factors to DALY due to glaucoma. METHODS: Global, regional, and country DALY number, rate, and age-standardized rates of glaucoma were obtained from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2017 database. The Human Development Index (HDI), Inequality-Adjusted HDI, Socio-Demographic Index (SDI), and other country-l…
