This paper presents new archaeological data from the site of Gird Lashkir (Erbil Plain, Iraqi Kurdistan), contributing to ongoing debates concerning the character and development of Early Bronze Age societies in northern Mesopotamia. The excavation of the site of Gatwa-sûr in the Zagros region of the Kurdistan region of Iraq has provided valuable insights into Early Christian burial practices in Northern Iraq during the Sasanian period.
