Unlocking the Potential of CRM-based Legacy Archaeobotanical Collections
This article explores the untapped potential of archaeobotanical legacy collections, particularly flotation samples generated by Cultural Resource Management (CRM) projects, to shed new light on past plant use and human – plant interactions. Often underanalyzed or with results found only in difficult-to-access technical reports, these collections reflect methodological compromises shaped by limited funding, time constraints, and fragmented workfl…

Plně zapadá do kontextu vývoje pravěkých oradel a zvýrazňuje dominanci výskytu rádel typu Walle v době bronzové. Nalezená rádla se stala předlohou k experimentální výrobě jejich rekonstrukcí a …

Agropastoral Economies and Land Use in Bronze Age Western Anatolia
The Middle and Late Bronze Ages of western Anatolia (modern Turkey) remains poorly understood in comparison with its Mycenaean and Hittite neighbours, especially in agricultural economies and land use. Kaymakci is the largest Middle and Late Bronze Age citadel excavated to date in western Anatolia and new archaeobotanical and zooarchaeological data from the site presented here shed new light on regional agricultural economies and land use. Agricu…
New excavations at the late Pleistocene site of Chinchihuapi I, Chile
This paper presents new excavation data on the Chinchihuapi I (CH-I) locality within the Monte Verde site complex, located along Chinchihuapi Creek in the cool, temperate Valdivian rain forest of south-central Chile. The 2017 and 2018 archaeological excavations carried out in this open-air locality reveal further that CH-I is an intermittently occupied site dating from the Early Holocene (~10,000 cal yr BP) to the late Pleistocene (at least ~14,5…
