Human-centered GenAI feedback design in higher education
Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is increasingly used for feedback in higher education, yet evidence remains limited on how alternative human–AI feedback designs shape learning processes and durable outcomes. This study addresses that gap through a multisite, cluster-randomized, longitudinal field experiment comparing four feedback designs in introductory university science courses: peer feedback only, direct GenAI-supported feedback, r…
Harnessing holographic technology in science education
This study develops and validates an integrated framework combining the General Extended Technology Acceptance Model for E-Learning (GETAMEL) with the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework to explore science teachers’ adoption of holographic technology in middle schools. Survey data from 750 in-service teachers across Turkey were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The integrated model demonstrated stronger explanatory powe…

This quantitative study explores the intercultural sensitivity levels of gifted younglearners enrolled in Science and Art Centres in the Burdur province in Turkey. Thestudy aimed to assess the learners‘ attitudes towards cultural diversity and theirimplications for English language instruction. Having utilized purposive sampling,108 gifted students participating in the Support 1 and Support 2 programmesacross three Science and Art Centres were se…
Proposing a conceptual model for the adoption of artificial intelligence by teachers in STEM education
This study explores the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in STEM education by proposing a new conceptual model that integrates UTAUT 2 and GETAMEL frameworks. Data collected from 582 science teachers in Turkey were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling. The results demonstrated that the proposed model outperformed the original GETAMEL and UTAUT 2 models in predicting teachers' intentions to adopt AI in STEM education. Key factors in…
Evaluating science teachers’ flipped learning readiness
Flipped learning has become an ally in education. However, although the literature has identified multiple benefits of using this strategy to improve student learning outcomes, its adoption and implementation by teachers in science education remain scarce. This study examines antecedents of science teachers’ flipped teaching readiness to act, aiming to encourage more teachers to use this strategy. The study implemented the General Extended Techno…
A comprehensive model explaining teachers’ intentions to use mobile-based assessment
This study was conducted to understand pre-service and in-service teachers’ intentions to use mobile-based assessment in classes by integrating theory of planned behaviour, technology acceptance model, and self-determination theory into one conceptual framework. Data were analysed using the structural equation model (SEM). Results of SEM from a sample of 522 pre-service teachers and 279 in-service teachers revealed that, compared to existing theo…

Understanding Students’ and Science Educators’ Eco-Labeled Food Purchase Behaviors
This study aims to understand antecedents of students' and science educators' purchasing behaviors for eco-labeled foods with the extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) model including self-identity, personal norm, willingness to pay, and eco-label knowledge in the Turkish context. A web-based survey was used to collect data from 3,393 people including middle school students, high school students, pre-service science teachers, science teachers…

Management as an Agent of Cultural Change in the Turkish Public Sector
This article explores the impact of public sector managerialism, and specifically the government's strategy of encouraging managers to adopt business values and associated behaviors, on cultural change in the Turkish health sector. The Turkish case provides a model of interdependence between managerial initiatives and cultural change, in that the government has tried to win over the hearts and minds of staff to a new attitude and style and has st…
