  • The Conflicting SDGs of Agricultural Productivity and Agro-Environmental Sustainability in Africa: Does Technology Infrastructure Matter in Resolving This Conundrum

Open Access•Muhamadu Awal Kindzeka Wirajing, Germain Stephane Ketchoua et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Environment &…•2026

This study uses technological infrastructures to inform evidence-based policy design, addressing the conundrum of agricultural productivity and agro-environmental sustainability in Africa. The investigations are done using the Instrumental Variable Two-Stage Least Squares (IV-2SLS) strategy to control for potential endogeneity, covering the period 2000–2020. The findings show that farmers, in their pursuit of greater productivity, often adopt uns…

    Open Access•Christian‐lambert Nguena, Tii N Nchofoung et al.•ARTICLE•Politics & Policy•2025•References: 9

Due to less settled securities exchanges, the main source of risk of the financial system in Africa is characterized by its most significant aspects being the banking sector in particular. Consequently, the overall stability of the financial system can be ensured by the stability of the banking sector. Furthermore, the greatest number of nations in Africa has historically been viewed as weak democracies. Thus, the purpose of this article is to ex…

  • The Political Empowerment of Women and Industrialization in Africa

    Open Access•Tii N Nchofoung, Simplice Anutechia Asongu et al.•ARTICLE•Politics & Policy•2025•References: 7

This study examines the effect of political empowerment of women on industrialization in Africa. The results, after controlling for cross‐sectional dependence, show that women's political implication causes industrialization. The fixed effects Driscoll/Kraay standard error and the GMM estimators reveal that women's political empowerment negatively affects industrialization. These negative effects are nullified by high economic freedom and high fe…

  • Religious freedom and welfare in Africa

Open Access•Muhamadu Awal Kindzeka Wirajing, Ernest Alang Wung et al.•ARTICLE•Social Science Quarterly•2024•References: 44

Objective Regions with multi‐ethnicity like Africa benefit from religiosity and freedom for improved mental and physical well‐being. Although religious freedom in its original sense advocates for peace, there are questions about whether it results in making healthy decisions that are beneficial to one's well‐being. This argument is made in light of the crimes carried out globally in the name of religious freedom, even though it is considered to b…

    Open Access•Tii N Nchofoung, Simplice Anutechia Asongu et al.•ARTICLE•Politics & Policy•2022•Cited by: 3•References: 21

The objective of this study is to examine the effect of political inclusion on democracy in Africa. The results of the analyses through ordinary least squares, system generalized method of moments, IV Tobit and instrumental variables two stage least squares show that gender political inclusion enhances democracy in Africa. This result is robust across alternative specifications of political inclusion and democracy. The results equally stood when …

  • Natural resources, renewable energy, and governance: A path towards sustainable development

    Open Access•Tii N Nchofoung, Nathanael Ojong•ARTICLE•Sustainable Development•2022•Cited by: 9•References: 16

Based on data for 48 African countries for the period 2000–2020, we analyse the effects of natural resources on renewable energy development and the mediating effects of governance on that relationship. For this purpose, the Ordinary Least Squares method was used to develop a baseline regression model, and the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) approach was used for the dynamic model regression. Quantile regression was used for robustness checki…
