The effects of moral norms and anticipated guilt on Covid19 prevention behaviors
Cabbage and Sauerkraut Consumption in Adolescence and Adulthood and Breast Cancer Risk among US-Resident Polish Migrant Women
Greater consumption of total and raw/short-cooked cabbage/sauerkraut foods either during adolescence or adulthood was associated with significantly reduced BC risk among Polish migrant women. These findings contribute to the growing literature suggesting a protective effect of a potentially modifiable factor, cruciferous vegetable intake, on breast cancer risk

The Seriousness of Acts and Social Contexts: A Test of Black's Theory of the Behavior of Law
This research tests several of the primary propositions constituting Black's theory of the behavior of law. The data consist of judgments about the seriousness of acts embedded in social contexts, which are varied systematically to represent the theory's five structural factors. The judgments were obtained with the use of a factorial survey approach from a probability sample of household members in a small southern city. The results generally sup…
Status Characteristics: Degrees of Task Relevance and Decision Processes
Status characteristics theories attempt to explain the emergence of observable power and prestige hierarchies in informal task groups based on the perceived performance expectations connoted by differential ranks on status characteristics. Generally, these theories have assumed that the task performance expectation-formation processes operate similarly regardless of whether the status characteristic has been made explicitly relevant to the task o…
Resolving Status Inconsistency: An Expectation States Theory and Test
Experimental studies associated with expectation states theories have demonstrated that people use various kinds of status characteristics (i.e., diffuse, specific task, or performance) to impute success probabilities to actors in collective-task situations. However, such inferences are complicated by the contradictory cues of differently evaluated status characteristics. Although researchers have debated whether actors resolve this inconsistency…
Total Performance Inconsistency and Status Generalization: An Expectation States Formulation
Past research has documented the fact that status characteristics organize group interaction. Freese and Cohen (1973) specified a condition under which a performance characteristic would eliminate the effect of a differentiating diffuse status characteristic. The present research extends the Freese-Cohen theory to specify a condition under which a differentiating diffuse status characteristic will eliminate the effect of a performance characteris…
